Before establishing himself as a director, he worked as a Technical advisor in the 1955 movie “To Catch a Thief”. Vincent made his directorial debut in the 1968 movie “Firecreek”. Television series directed by the legend has even won the Emmy Awards, the series is The Untouchables, Gunsmoke, Star Trek episodes (“Dragger of the Mind”, “Balance of Terror”, “Patterns of Force”, and “Spectre of the Gun”), “Magnum”, “P.I., How the West Was Won”, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E, “Stranger at My Door”, “Murder”, “She Wrote”, and “Diagnosis: Murder”. 

McEveety directed the episode “Sweet, Sweet Blues” of the NBC television series “In the Heat of the Light” in 1991 which guest-starred legendary musician Bobby Short and extraordinary late actor James Best was awarded the prestigious National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in the category “Outstanding Dramatic Series” and the actor James Best also won the Crystal reel award in the category best actor for his role in “In the Heat of the Night”.

McEveety turned producer from 1994 to 1997 and produced Peter Falk starring American crime drama television series “Columba” for the same series he also worked as director and directed seven episodes between the years 1990 and 1997.   

His work was recognized by the Walt Disney Studios and he directed several movies for the Walt Disney Pictures, which are the 1971 “The Million Dollar Duck” alongside Clancy Brown and Taylor Lautner, the 1972 movie “The Biscuit Eater”, the 1973 movie “Superdad”, 1975 science-fiction comedy movie “The Strongest Man in the World”.

He directed a superhero movie for television based on the DC Comics character “wonder woman” in 1974, directed the 1974 adventure film “The castaway cowboy”, 1976 family adventure movie “Treasure of Matecumbae”, 1981 movie “Amy”, television film “Ask Max” alongside Gina Carano and Judy Greer in 1981, “gunsmoke: return to dodge” (1987), 1991 ‘stranger at my door”, and “a perry mason mystery: the case of the jealous jokester” in 1995.
