Early Life
Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg was born to Alma Elaine and Donald Edmond Wahlberg on 5th June 1971 in Boston. He is the youngest of the nine siblings. His father was a delivery driver and an army veteran while his mother worked as a nurse aide and was also a bank clerk. His parents raised him as a Catholic.
He attended Copley Square High School but did not complete his high school until 2013. He was a regular cocaine user by the time he turned 13, and he went to jail for race-related violence.

Mark Wahlberg started his musical career as a member of his brother Donnie’s boy band New Kids on the Block but later quit the band after being together for a few months. He then started the band Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch in 1987 and began recording songs with Scott Ross, Terry Yancey, Anthony Thomas, and Hector Barros. The band released their first album titled “Music for the People” in 1991. The album was a huge hit and climbed on the 21st number of the Billboard 200.
The band then released their second album titled “You Gotta Believe” in 1992. The album could not perform as the previous one but managed to reach 67th position in the Billboard 200 and got nominated for the Grammy Awards. They have also released few singles until the band got disbanded in 1993. Mark left the band to pursue a career in acting.

Mark Wahlberg’s debut in the acting industry came from the 1994 comedy film “Renaissance Man” as Private Tommy Lee Haywood. The film was a flop in the box-office, grossing just about half of its budget. He then featured in the 1995 film “The Basketball Diaries” as Mickey. The following year, he made featured in “Fear” as David McCall.
He has also made appearances in “Traveler” as Pat O’Hara, “The Big Hit” as Melvin Smiley, “Three Kings” as Troy Barlow, “The Yards” as Leo Handler, and a few other films from 1996 to 2000. In 2001, he portrayed Captain Leo Davidson in the 6th film of the Planet of the Apes film series titled “Planet of the Apes.” The film was an average critical hit but managed to gross $360.2 million in the box-office.
In 2003, he also made an appearance in the documentary “Overnight” as himself. In 2006, he starred as Vince Papale in the sports drama “Invincible.” The film has an IMDb rating of 7.1 in IMDb based on 64,951 votes and collected $58.5 million in the box-office. In 2012, he played John Bennet in the comedy film “Ted.” The film was a huge box-office success, grossing over $549.4 million against a $50 million budget. He also reprised the role in the sequel of the film titled “Ted 2”, released in 2015.
