Early life

Mowry was born on 6th July of 1978 in the town called Gelnhausen of West Germany. Her full name is Tamera Darvette Mowry-Housley, and she is the daughter of Darlene Renee Mowry and Timothy John Mowry. She has a twin sister named Tia Mowry, who was born 2 minutes late than her. Her father was an officer in the City of Glendale Police Department and a former U.S. Army as well; her mother is also a retired U.S. Army. Her other siblings include Tahj Mowry, a singer, and Tavior Mowry; both are younger than her.

Mowry grew up in a religious family as both her parents were a devoted Christian. She joined the Pepperdine University from which she graduated.

Tamera Mowry is mostly known for the countless number of TV series she has performed on. Talking about her film, she has appeared in only two films till 2020. She first made her film debut in 2002, appearing in a teen comedy film called The Hot Chick as a sissy. Her final movie appearance was in 2012, where she appeared in the film Redemption of a Dog portraying the character of Michelle.

She made her first TV debut as Penelope in 1991 in an episode of Flesh ‘n’ Blood called “Beauty is in the Eye of the Ticketholder.” The following year, she made appearances in 2 TV series called True Colors as Lorae and Full House as Denise. She finally received the lead role in TV series called Sister, Sister, and her twin sister. In the series, she has portrayed the character of Tamera Cambell. For her performance, she achieved numerous NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Youth Actor/Actress in 1996, Outstanding Actress in a Comedy series in 1999 and 2000, which she won.

Tamera Mowry also received the nominations of Young Artist Award for Best Youth Comedienne in a TV Show in 1995, Best Performance by a Young Actress- TV Comedy Series in 1996, and Best Performance in a TV Comedy- Leading Young Actress in 1997. In 2011, she played the lead role in a reality TV series called Tia & Tamera.
