Early life

Paul Dano was born on 19th June in 1984 in New York City in the United States. His full name is Paul Franklin Dano, and he was taken to Gladys Dano and a businessman Paul A. Dano. He grew up with his parents and a small sister, Sarah, in New York. He joined the Browning school in New York for his schooling, but later, he transferred to New Canaan and again transferred to the town called Wilton along with his family. After settling down in Wilton, he joined the Wilton High School for his education. He graduated with a degree in arts from Eugene Lang College in New York.

Paul Dano made his theatre debut in 1996, appearing in the play called Inherit the Wind as Howard. The play was performed in Royale theatre. The following year, he appeared in another musical play called A Christmas Carol as a street Urchin, performed in The Theatre at Madison Square Garden.

He then played the character of Charles in the play Things We Wanted in 2007. In 2010, he appeared in a John Guare’s play called A Free Man of Color, portraying the character of Meriwether Lewis. He landed a significant role in a teen drama film directed by Michael Cuesta called L.I.E, where he portrayed the character of Howie Blitzer. The film was released in 2001. The following year, he appeared in another drama film called The Emperor’s Club, directed by Michael Hoffman, where he portrayed the character of Martin Blythe.

In 2004, he appeared in 2 films, namely The Girl Next Door, directed by Luke Greenfield as Klitz, and a psychological thriller film called Taking Lives as Young Asher. In 2005, he appeared in Rebecca Miller’s The Ballad of Jack and Rose as Thaddius and James Marsh’s film called The King as Paul.

In 2006, he played the character of a mute teenager named Dwayne in a comedy-drama film called Little Miss Sunshine, for which he received quite attention and praise from the critics. He also played a small role in a comedy-drama film called Fast Food Nation as Brian. In 2007, he starred in a teenage crime drama film called Weapons as Chris. He also portrayed the character of Paul Sunday in a period drama film called There Will Be Blood for which he was nominated for BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 2002, he played the role of a young teenager named Matt Freeman in a TV film called Too Young to Be a Dad. The same year, he played a small part in the crime drama series called The Sopranos, appearing in 2 episodes as Patrick Whalen. In 2015, he appeared in an episode of Codes of Conduct called “Pilot,” where he played Jared Rotmensen.
