Early life

VanCamp was born on 12th May of 1986 in the town community called Port Perry of Ontario province in Canada. Thus, she belongs to Canadian nationality as she was born and raised there. Her full name is Emily Irene VanCamp, and she is the daughter of an animal nutritionist Robert VanCamp. She has a younger sister Molly VanCamp who is a veterinarian and other two sisters Alison and Katie VanCamp. She follows Roman Catholicism.

Growing up, Emily VanCamp wanted to become a professional ballet dancer, so she was practised dancing when she was three years old and took the dance training in Ecole Superieure de ballet de Montreal in Montreal of Quebec. But eventually changed her interest to an acting career in the following year after watching her sister, who is an actress Katie VanCamp.

Emily VanCamp made her film debut in 2001. She appeared in the Canadian film Lost and Delirious portraying the character of Allison Moller. Following year, she appeared in Bob Rafelson’s American crime thriller film called No Good Deed showing the character of Connie. In 2004, she landed another small role in the drama film A Different Loyalty as Jen Tyler.in 2005, she appeared in the short American horror film called Rings and later in the supernatural psychological horror film The Ring Two as the same character.

In 2007, Emily VanCamp landed the leading role in Brad Gann’s American independent drama film Black Irish portraying the character of Kathleen McKay. She then starred in Alex and David Pastor’s post-Apocalyptic film Carriers as Kate in 2009. In 2010, VanCamp starred in Jonathan Segal’s drama film Norman as Emily Harris alongside co-stars Dan Byrd, Richard Jenkins and Adam Goldberg. She won her first Breckenridge Festival of Film Award for Best Ensemble Cast and San Diego Film Festival of Film Award for Best Ensemble Cast in 2010.

In 2014, Emily VanCamp made her breakthrough after playing the role of fictional character an Agent 13, Sharon Carter in the Marvel superhero film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Following year, she starred in the Marya Cohn’s film The Girl in the Book portraying the character of Alice Harvey. In 2016, she again appeared in the movie Captain America: Civil War, and she won the Teen Choice Awards for Choice Movie: Liplock which she shared with star Chris Evans in 2016. The same year, she starred in the Canadian drama film Boundaries portraying the character of Emily Price.

Emily VanCamp made her television earlier in 2000 where she starred in the television film, Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis as Jackie Bouvier. The same year, she made her appearance in the Canadian horror anthology series Are You Afraid of the Dark as Peggy Gregory. She then appeared in other series like Radio Active, All Souls, Dice and Redeemer before landing the central role in the American mystery drama series Glory Days in 2002.

In the series, she portrayed the character of Sam Dolan after which she started gaining fame. The same year, she played another leading role in the series Everwood as Amy Abbott. The series was highly successful and for her performance received a countless number of nominations including 4 Teen Choice Awards, a Young Artist Award and a Prism Awards.

They were engaged in 2017 and tied their knot a year after in 2018 after seven years of dating.
