Dean is known for his character of Almanzo Wilder on the NBC family drama Little House on the Prairie, which was related to the classic Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. He appeared in the show’s final four seasons,d the spin-off shows Little House: A New Beginning, and the three post-series T.V. movies. After Little House ended, he featured Jeff “Moondoggie” Griffin in the T.V. series name The New Gidget and Buffy’s dad, Hank Summers, on Buffy the Vampire Killer.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Dean has also appeared on different television series which involves Murder; she wrote, Who’s The Boss?, The Love Boat, and JAG.  In addition, he appeared in the movies Desert Hearts and The Final Goal.

Butler has also performed in the show of Stephen Sondheim. Butler has also featured on Broadway in the native organization of Into the Woods as Rapunzel’s Prince, worldwide as Tony in West Side Story.
