Early Life
Daniel Levy was born as Daniel Joseph Levy to Eugene Levy and Deborah Divine on 9th August 1983 in Toronto. He is the oldest among the two siblings. His younger sister, Sarah, is an actress. His father, Eugene Levy, is a famous Canadian actor/writer/director. His mother is the write of “Maniac Mansion.” He grew up as a Jewish.
He completed his high school graduation from North Toronto Collegiate Institute. After graduating from high school, he attended both York University and Ryerson University to study film production.

In Television
Daniel Levy started his television journey from MTV Canada’s flagship series “MTV Life” as a host from 2006 to 2011. During the same time, he also hosted MTV’s next show, “The After Show.” He was also the writer and producer of the show. In 2010, he made an appearance in his play “Daniel Levy’s Holi-Do’s & Don’ts.”
His first acting role in television was in the 2009 television film “Degrassi Goes Hollywood” as Robbie. In 2015, he announced as the Canadian reality television judge show “Canada’s Smartest Person.”

But they faced a problem in the title of the show as Schitt sounded vulgar to broadcasters. They then proved their point of the name being a proper surname using various copies from phonebooks.
They then cast Catherine O’Hara, Annie Murphy, and Jennifer Robertson to be part of the lead cast. The series follows Eugene as Johnny, Daniel, David, and Annie as Alexis into rebuilding their lost fortune and business. The series has a total of six seasons with eighty episodes. Furthermore, Daniel is the writer, actor, director, creator, and producer of the show. The series has received a positive response and has a rating of 8.4 in IMDb from over 40 thousand reviews.
While playing his role in “Schitt’s Creek,” he also hosted the cooking competition reality television show “The Great Canadian Baking Show” for sixteen episodes. He has also made an appearance in “Modern Family” as Jonah in the episode “A Sketchy Area.” He narrated the 2019 television film “The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show” and was the judge of “Dishmantled” in 2020.
