She had also worked for weeknights at 5:30 and 11 pm in 2003. Tynan came into the limelight after replacing Lisa Thomas-Laury as co-host of several locally produced specials, including the 6ABC Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 4th of July Parade, Philly on Wheels, and the Flower Show.
Besides weather forecaster, she is also known as a triathlete. Tynan also became the four-time sub-3 hour marathoner and a former world-class professional duathlete. Cecily was also the top ten age group finisher at the 2003 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Cecily has also featured on the cover page of the February edition name Runner’s World Magazine in 2001.
Cecily has also participated in local charity races in recent times. She has also replaced Dave Roberts after he retired on 5 pm and 6 pm weathercasts in 2009. Presently, Tynan is working as the chief meteorologist for WPVI and is seen as a weathercaster at 5, 6, and 11 pm shows.
