Early life
Andrew Scott was born on 21st October 1976 in the capital city of Ireland named Dublin. Thus, he is of Irish nationality. He was taken to Nora Scott, his mother, who used to work as an art teacher, and his father, Jim Scott, who used to work in an employment agency. He was raised with two sisters namely Sarah (older) and Hannah (younger).
Scott had his mind already set into an acting career since his early days. He was studying at Gonzaga College for his secondary school but also attending drama classes during the weekend. After earning the starring role in an Irish film called Korea, he was elected to study in an art school. Thus, he joined Abbey theatre after six months of attending Trinity College.
Career
In 1998, he played a small role in the war film called Saving Private Ryan, directed by Steven Spielberg. He also portrayed the role of Edmund in the play called Long Day’s Journey into Night, for which he earned the Actor of the year award and nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1988.
Andrew Scott made his London theatre debut in 2000 by appearing in a play called Dublin Carol after appearing in the film called Nora. Later on, he was cast for the drama called Longitude also in war drama miniseries called Band of Brothers, for which he earned the BAFTA award.
Scott earned the lead role in the British comedy series called My Life in Film in 2004. He also played the lead in the play called A Girl in a Car with a Man for which he earned Olivier Award.
