Early life
Vikander was born on 3rd October of 1988, and as of 2020, she turned 32 years old. She was born in the second largest city of Sweden called Gothenburg to Maria Fahl Vikander and Svante Vikander. Thus, her nationality is Swedish, and her given birth name is Alicia Amanda Vikander. Her mother is a stage actress while her father is a psychiatrist. Vikander was raised solely by her mother after her parents got separated when she was just two months old, but she did visit her father every weekend and was close to other siblings from his father.

She started her professional acting career by appearing in different short Swedish films and TV series. Between 2008 to 2010, she made her Tv series debut from soap opera and drama series called Andra Avenyn.
During the year 2010, Vikander made her film debut as the lead character in a Swedish drama film called Pure, where she portrayed Katarina’s character. She won her first Rising Star Award, Shooting Star Award, and Guldbagge Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the movie- Pure.
A year later, Alicia Vikander signed a contract with United Talent Agency and released her second-leading film, The Crown Jewels, in 2011. Soon after, Vikander was known at the international level after portraying the character as Kitty in the film Anna Karenina.
