Early Life
Ana de Armas’s full name is Ana Celia de Armas Caso. She was born to parents Ramon and Ana on April 30, 1988, in Havana, Cuba.
Her father was once a deputy mayor, and he worked in several other positions, whereas her mother worked in the human resources section. She had a happy childhood, although she grew up in Cuba’s Special Period. She has an older brother named Javier. As a child, she lived with her grandparents in Havana.
Ana had no access to the internet as a teenager, and she watched films in her neighbor’s apartment. Fascinated by acting, she decided to become an actress at the age of 12.
Ana joined the National Theater School of Cuba when she was 15 years old. She moved to Spain with 200 euros in savings to further pursue her acting career when she was 18 years old. She dropped out of the drama course to avoid staying in Cuba for three years as per the Cuban rules.

She moved to Madrid when she was 18. After moving to Spain, she got her first role in the “El Internado.” In it, she played the role of a teenager named Carolina Leal Solis. She appeared in 56 episodes of the show from 2007 to 2010. This show made her a star in Spain. Even though it made her famous, she fell into typecast and was the only cast as a teenager in films and TV shows.
